The pneumatic installation of the Lift & Rotate Unit has to be done according to the pneumatic diagram to ensure the correct operation of the unit. The supplied air fittings are designed for 6 mm air tubing. The supplied compressed air must be dried and filtered and the pressure must be set in the defined range.
The shot pin is activated by an integrated pneumatic cylinder. The pin of the unit has a spring return for safety reasons. This spring automatically pushes the pin out in case of a pressure loss. In this case, the rotation is stopped at the next rotation stop position and any further rotation is not possible.

To guarantee a smooth operation, the Lift & Rotate Unit is in its home position when staring the flow process.
  1. If the stop unit is not occupied (no pallet over the stop unit) (S1), a pallet can run in.
  2. If the pallet is identified in the stop position (S1) by the sensor, the pallet can be lifted. With the use of a cushioned stop unit the signals S1 and S4 must be present before the lifting process starts.
  3. Once the unit reaches its end position (S6), the shot pin can be released and the pallet can be rotated.
  4. To guarantee a locking by the shot pin, the index pin has to be extended to stop the rotat¬ing in the respective position. The position is reached, if the sensor S7 - S10 and the sensor...

Sensors have to be installed in the provided brackets. The wires have to be protected against chafing and secured against unintentional removal. Please pay attention to the correct switching distance and the right sensor size.
The controls of the sensors and the used logic can influence the function of the Lift & Rotate Unit tremendously. This is the responsibility of the operating company.
The automatic Lift & Rotate Unit is rotated by a three-phase voltage, geared motor, which has to be controlled by a frequency converter. All sensors for the installed stop unit on the respective configuration must be electrically connected according to the related documentation.

To tension the chain, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Loosen the four mounting clamps of the motor base plate.
  3. Move the entire unit against the running direction until the required chain tension is reached.
  4. Tighten the four mounting clamps.
  5. Connect the electrical supply.
  6. Check the function of the entire Lift & Rotate Unit.
  7. Please follow the steps in reverse order to re-install the indexing plate.

The friction clutch is a safety element and and serves asprotection for the operator and mechanics. The friction clutch is completely tested, pre-adjusted and ready for the operation. However if fine adjustments are necessary, all operating conditions must be checked first. A mechanical overload of the drive caused by a friction clutch adjusted too tight must be avoided in any case.

The Lift & Rotate Unit is pre-adjusted before delivery. Precise adjustments have to be done with the pallet and its work piece together, and by adjusting the flat index pin to get the pallet properly supported.

  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Loosen the set screw at the adjustable flat rest.

  1. Define the area where the Lift & Rotate Unit should be installed. Replace all full rollers with stub rollers in this area. (See the documentation of the roller conveyor for detailed installation operation steps.) The stub rollers on the driven side have to be installed with a 57 mm spacing; on the non-driven side a spacing of 114 mm is sufficient.
    The required stub rollers are not part of the scope of delivery. They have to be ordered separately in case of a component order.
